Oral Presentations

The plenary and keynote lectures will be used to provide an overview of the area of microscale bioseparations (see list of Confirmed Invited Speakers). Following the plenary and keynote lectures, oral sessions will be arranged in parallel, and used for the presentation of latest research results.

Poster sessions

Ample time will be provided for poster presentations. The poster sessions are a platform for interaction between researchers and users of microscale bioseparations & methods for systems biology.

  • Size of posters: A0 portrait (118.9cm high x 84.1cm wide)

Poster awards

Scientific contributions presented and discussed as posters will be reviewed by a panel of international scientists, who would select three award-winning papers.

The awards have been kindly endowed by Springer-Verlag and the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Workshops

The pre-conference workshops, on sunday, will give tutorial lectures on a few relevant subjects. They intend to provide an entry into the topics of the symposium - to novices, to PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, but also to experienced users who want to obtain a comprehensive view of the particular topic. The workshops will last a half-day and will be arranged such that one can participate in two complementary workshops.

List of workshop topics:

Use of CE in biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry outline
Metabolomics for clinical and single cell analysis outline
Microfabrication technologies for microfluidic devices outline
Miniaturized separation techniques for „-omics“ analysis outline
Micro- and Nanofluidics: basics and applications outline

Social program

On Sunday, March 9, a get together will take place at 8:30 pm after the initial talks and lectures.

The conference dinner will take place on Wednesday, March 12, starting with a boat tour through the city of Berlin followed by a traditional Berlin rustic dinner at 'Max und Moritz'. The dress code is casual for this event.
